Holly Chessman, Principal at Holly Chessman Marketing, comes from a long background of marketing, strategy, and writing for high tech and other companies. Well versed in managing marketing projects for clients ranging from small local companies to large global organizations, Holly is very capable of conducting meetings with senior management, sales people, programmers, contractors, graphic artists, and more to research, develop, and execute projects. She is aware of the value of ensuring consistency in branding, look and feel, and language across marketing and technical materials. Her goal is to provide effective marketing campaigns and materials that exceed organizations' expectations and meet their budgetary needs.
Holly has worked at numerous high tech companies, as well as marketing and public relations companies. She has managed teams and handled marketing projects for clients of all sizes and in a variety of spaces. In addition to providing her writing expertise, she has also managed the conception, creation, and updating of Websites; managed SEO projects and paid search campaigns; scripted and developed videos; organized and created content for electronic newsletters; managed, negotiated with, and researched contractors and outside vendors for a variety of projects; and more. She has also helped execute integrated marketing campaigns and identified communication needs across organizations.
Holly has worked as a Senior Marketing Programs Manager, Marketing Team Lead, and Senior Marketing Writer. Her employers have included Empirix (testing, monitoring, and analytics for communications and network technologies), Davies Murphy Group (public relations and marketing company), Guardium, Inc. (cutting edge database security solutions - later purchased by IBM), MatrixOne, Inc. (collaborative product lifecycle management - later purchased by Dassault Systemes), SupplierMarket.com (Internet-based supplier solutions - later purchased by Ariba, Inc.), and New Dimension Software (security technology - later purchased by BMC Software). Previous to her marketing career, Holly worked as a technical writer, providing documentation and tech notes for a number of software products.
Holly earned a B.A. from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a double major in Communications and Creative Writing. She has also completed a number of relevant courses throughout her career, including an intensive workshop for analyst relations professionals; a technical writing and desktop publishing course; a class on scriptwriting, interview skills, filming techniques, and skills for directing and editing films; and a Hebrew verbal and written language course. She is fluent in Hebrew.
